Windburn The Elemental Series Book 4 eBook Shannon Mayer
*** I received an ARC in exchange for an honest review ***Shannon Mayer is an amazing author and she delivers in this book, which is book 4 in her Elemental Series. Windburn picks up from where Firestorm (book 3) ends. The main character, Larkspur, has been asked to help find her father but in order to do so she will need to break the rules which come with steep consequences. In order to find her father Lark must first get help from a Tracker, and as is usually the case, nothing is ever as simple as it sounds. In the midst of her complicated life, she is not only faced with finding her father but also coming face to face with someone who wishes nothing more than to defeat and destroy her. All this while trying to decide which of the two men she loves will she choose, or can she even have a chance at love and a family with the life she lives. This is a series worth reading, it won't let you down whether you are new to paranormal fantasy or are an avid paranormal fantasy reader.
If you are a fan of Mayer's Rylee Adamson series you will love this one. We get to experience a part of Rylee's world that we only just got a glimpse at in that series, as well as make some connections with some characters that had a place in Rylee's series.

Windburn The Elemental Series Book 4 eBook Shannon Mayer Reviews
I received an ARC in exchange for an honest review of Windburn.
What a great chapter in Larkspur’s story Windburn turned out to be. I couldn’t put it down and read it in one sitting; that is just how good it is! Windburn continues Lark’s journey as she struggles to do what is right, and sometimes, what is necessary, all while trying to learn where she fits into the scheme of things. And just when I thought I had it all figured out, Ms. Mayer throws you for a loop, and you have to sit back and go, “wow!”
Windburn picks up where Firestorm leaves off, with Lark heading out to the Realm of the Sylphs (Air Elementals) to find out what happened to her father. Personally, I would just let him rot wherever he is, but Lark needs to find her father so that the Rim can have stability brought back within its borders. I guess Lark is a better person than I am. During her journey, Lark meets new friends and new enemies, and even travels through the Human world, where you will also run into some familiar faces and names. Secrets come out, truths (and sometimes lies) are told, and even the Mother Goddess isn’t quite all you thought she was. Windburn does not scrimp on action, emotion and intrigue.
In addition, Ms. Mayer also begins to weave Lark’s and Rylee’s lives together, and provides some much wanted (and needed) background information that makes everything start to make sense between the two storylines. For me, Lark’s adventures are turning into a magnificent tapestry; one that I cannot wait to see unfold in glorious technicolor over the next four books. Ms. Mayer is an engaging storyteller, with a vivid imagination that just reels you in, and then leaves you hanging on the hook, desperately waiting for the next installment. You become so invested in her characters and their lives, that they become family to you. I don’t know what I am going to do when this series ends, and I sincerely hope she is already planning something new for us.
My final thought here is, if you are new to Ms. Mayer’s world, I would read the Elemental Series first, starting with Recurve, before picking up the Rylee series to read. While it is not necessary, I just think that story lines, character relationships between the two, and other important, but subtle parts of Rylee’s story will be so much clearer once you have read the Elemental Series first. Happy Reading!
I am left wanting more, as in...I can't wait for the next book!
I have read all of Shannon Mayer's books because she has the ability to create such complex characters and wonderful imagery. In Windburn, the characters become more dynamic, and Lark's world continues to grow. Even though the genre is Fantasy, it is easy to relate to the challenges faced. You can allow yourself to escape into the world that has been created, and to truly root for the hero/heroine, and sometimes even for the villain! Aside from the ability to create a world that has so many sights and sounds, Mayer also has the ability to make you FEEL something! That is everything I'm looking for in a series and in an author.
I received this book as part of an ARC for an Honest Review!!!
This Book exceeded my expectations.... Loved It!!!
Not only do I absolutely LOVE Larkspur, I love how Shannon has started to fill in blanks between Rylee's story and Larks... We are getting some clarification on how the two story's and the two characters have crossed... A lot of questions have been answered with more promised in the books to come.
This books hooks you from the first page, before you know it you are finished and waiting for more!!!
Excellent continuation of Lark's story... Can't wait for the next one!!
Thank you Shannon Mayer for bringing such lovable characters for us to enjoy!!
Fantastic Fourth Book in Series! I received this ARC of this book from the author in exchange for an honest review. But I must say I have not only read all the other books in this series but have read other series by this author and have not been disappointed with her books yet. As far as this book it continues where the third book in this series ended with Lark taking on the task of finding her father. A lot of important things happen in this book and it is fast paced but you will definitely love it all. Once again the love triangle between Lark, Ash and Cactus is in full swing. In this book you will also see many characters that are important in the Rylee Adamson series and how they are intertwined with Lark. I definitely want to know what happens next and can't wait till the next book in the series is released.
